Vanessa is a Vice President in Segal Marco Advisors’ New York office with 20 years of experience in the investment industry. She provides consulting services to corporate and public defined benefit and defined contribution plans, foundations and endowment funds, and financial advisors. Vanessa is a member of the Defined Contribution Practices Committee, which develops the firm’s strategy and process for servicing our defined contribution clients. She is also a member of the Performance Report Governance Committee, which periodically reviews performance report templates and formats as well as process improvements in the areas of data collection and portfolio characteristics.
Vanessa is a founding member of NEXT (National Exposure and X-Training), which is a professional development group for every non-officer at Segal who is interested in developing consulting skills, as well as networking and cross training with their peers. She is also a founding member of the KEY (Knowledge Empowers You) Committee at Segal Marco Advisors, which is a grassroots professional development initiative created to help employees learn from the Segal Marco colleagues; share ideas, understand roles and brainstorm effective solutions that meet client objectives.
Vanessa became a member of Segal’s DEI Steering Committee in May 2022. The DEI Steering Committee is responsible for Segal’s DEI policies, practices and action plans. It also provides guidance, approves resource requests and monitors progress of Segal’s activities and actions.
Prior to joining Segal Marco Advisors, Vanessa was a legal assistant in the law office of Angela S. Riordan in Trumbull, Connecticut.
Vanessa received her BS cum laude in Finance and International Business from the University of Bridgeport and studied at the Fundacion Universitaria San Martin, Barranquilla, Colombia. She has a Masters in Technology Management from the University of Bridgeport.
