Jeff Kuhl
Director
Mr. Kuhl serves as a Director of the Alpha Investment Research Group in Segal Marco Advisors’ Chicago office. He has over 20 years of investment experience. Mr. Kuhl is responsible for the recommendation and monitoring of investment strategies for institutional investment clients. He conducts ongoing analysis of individual managers and coordinates all aspects of the investment due diligence process, including working with current and prospective managers with an emphasis on equity based strategies. Mr. Kuhl serves as a member of the firm’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Committee and provides support to firm consultants and clients.
Prior to joining Segal Marco Advisors, Mr. Kuhl worked for Nuveen Investments, where he served as an equity asset class expert responsible for relationship management and oversight of multiple equity portfolio managers and strategies. Before working at Nuveen, Mr. Kuhl was a founding member of Conversus Asset Management, manager of a $2 billion publicly traded private equity fund of funds portfolio. Conversus was a spin-out of Bank of America, where Mr. Kuhl evaluated private equity investment opportunities through performing due diligence and formulating investment recommendations while also monitoring a portfolio of over 1,000 private equity investments. Mr. Kuhl began his career with Arthur Andersen, where he completed valuation studies for the Strategic Valuation Services group that emphasized the use of financial analytical techniques, industry and life cycle analysis and general economic analysis.
Mr. Kuhl received his BS in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and his MBA with concentrations in Finance, Economics, Strategic Management and Managerial and Organizational Behavior from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Mr. Kuhl is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter holder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.
